The work that has to be done in order to get hired

I read an interesting article about the new ways of employment that are looming on the horizon. I tend to agree with the writer of the article, however, I also want add something, namely that the strategy explained in the article (will) apply even to non-permanent collaborators or value-added service companies who want to win a project/pitch/tender.
